The elementary school, of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, dates back to the decade between 1830 and 1840 when a number of Lutheran congregations organized in the Midwest states and established Christian schools for their children. The first of these schools is older than public schools in most states. Lutheran schools seek to work closely with the public schools in fulfilling the responsibilities of education in the community. Immanuel Lutheran is one of 2,569 Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod churches involved in the operation of a School and Early Childhood Center.
Immanuel Lutheran School began as a small parochial school in 1911 with the pastor as the teacher. In 1946, the school reopened in a new building on Shoup and Blake Streets. Many of the great-grandparents, still in our church, helped dig the foundation and construct the building. Teachers were hired and Lutheran Christian education was available to everyone in Twin Falls. In the fall of 1983 the Christian Life Center, currently housing Immanuel Lutheran School, was dedicated and opened its first class. In 2007 four additional classes were added to accommodate our growing early childhood program.
The faculty and staff welcome you and your family to Immanuel Lutheran School. Our excellent curriculum and teaching methods are only a small part of what we offer. The strength of our school lies in our dedication to demonstrate our love for Christ and His love for the children in all areas of academics and activities. You are welcome to come and be a part of our school at any time.
Immanuel Lutheran Church continues to support the school prayerfully and financially, and is committed to making Christian education available in the Magic Valley area throughout the future
God’s Blessings,
Mrs. Angie Olson

I'm very excited to be a part of the ILS family as one of the First Grade teachers for the 2022 -2023 school year.
I am originally from Buhl. I attended school at Clover Trinity Lutheran School and then moved to Buhl High School where I graduated from. I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where I received my BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I took my first call to teach at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Child Development Center in Mountain View, California were I taught both preschool and kindergarten. I later took a call to serve at Littlest Angels Preschool and Bethany Lutheran Church in Menlo Park, California where I taught pre-kindergarten as well as served in many other ministries within the church. I returned to the Magic Valley in 2015 to be closer to my family.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy being involved in various other activities. I enjoy riding my bike, reading, hanging out with family, friends, my cat Joiya and my dog Ordei, gardening, and sleeping. I am blessed to have 2 nephews here in the valley and I have a great time hanging out with them.
I am looking forward to my eighth year here at Immanuel Lutheran School in first grade. I pray that we all will have a great year growing and learning together.

I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Immanuel Lutheran. This will be my 35th year in the teaching profession and I absolutely love what I do. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Montana Western. Before landing at Immanuel Lutheran, I spent 33 years shaping young minds in the Twin Falls School District. First graders are my favorite! Witnessing their lightbulb moments and seeing them grow academically and personally is incredibly rewarding. I love the fact that first graders are unapologetically themselves, so I know my days will always include lots of laughter. Teaching at Immanuel Lutheran fills me with enthusiasm, and I am eagerly looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead.

Continuing the path as I grew up in a faith driven school is a dream come true! I can’t wait to continue building little Christ-like minds.

I am excited to begin this new journey as the principal at Immanuel Lutheran School. I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada where I began my teaching career after graduating with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I taught in the public school system for a total of 11 years in grades 1, 3, 6, and 7. During this time, I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. After staying home with my two children, Madeline and Michael for several years, I began my career in Lutheran education. I was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for two years at Mountain View Lutheran School. I moved to Faith Lutheran Academy, where I remained for 9 years and served as a 2nd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, Librarian, and Technology Coordinator. During my time at Faith Lutheran Academy, I earned my Colloquy from Concordia, Irvine in 2017. Both of my children graduated from Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas. My husband, Jason and I relocated to Twin Falls in June of 2022 after he retired. I then served in leadership at a Christian school until May of 2024. The role of principal at Immanuel is an amazing blessing and an opportunity to pour into the students we are privileged to serve. I look forward to many good years together watching our students grow academically, spiritually, and physically while joyfully serving the Lord.
